URBAN ACUPUNCTURES strategies as a mode of intervention and EVENTs as temporal catalysts provide a “modus operandi” that starts from bottom-up, small-scale approach as the core elements of testing urban tactics responsible for supporting successful public life. The Descours event is developed within this context and sustains a model to provide immediate responses to the city and to produce conditions for public life to unfold. Strat-egies are more relevant then the actual materialization that a project may take, and ultimately is a mode to continue to seek for forms of intervention within the complexity of the urban realm. X-Fibra performs as an urban surface that is solar-powered and able to be a self-illuminating screen. It could potentially be implemented into existing blank surfaces of the city, providing an additional performative layer; also provides an armature for nature. It could be mass-produced and self-assembled by each user, becoming a tool that could be replicated and adopted in different parts of the city.
